Sydney rocked this Mardi Gras weekend and finished up with Extra Dirty at Q Bar. MandysTribe came out to celebrate big time with a brilliant line-up of Australian DJs and Javier Medina from Barcelona. It was an awesome expression of the queer underground and the crowd was thumping right through to 6am. Thanks MandysTribe and the Extra Dirty crew. A privilege to be involved in this event.
Hope you enjoy the tunes which in the first hour is progressive and techno with a few vocal head fucks thrown in, including a tribute to our old mate Mandy Rollins, Pride a Deeper Love, which she used to play at Extra Dirty.
Part 2 includes a sample from M-People's Moving On Up - a cheeky tribute to Heather Small who sang at the main Mardi Gras After Party this year. It's laid over the top of meaty techy crunchy Bauerpost by Cirez D. A pretty interesting combination. The last half hour is some thumpin' tech house to close the event.
Always good to have some fun with it. Techno doesn't live in a vacuum, it's part of the big wonderful wide world of music.
Thanks for your support and Happy Mardi Gras!

We love new tunes! This mix is not for the faint-hearted.
Get set for a massive Sydney Mardi Gras weekend. Here's a little selection of the tougher stuff I'll be playing at Extra Dirty Sunday 3 March.
There's plenty of deep throbbing, techno and banging progressive to get your teeth into.
Tracks by Sian, Luigi Madonna, Cari Lekebusch, Marco Bailey, Sin Sin, Kiko, Tom Hades, Kroman Celik and mixes by Nicole Moudaber, Sasha Carassi, Filterheadz and Jerome Sydneham.
Some of these artists can't put a foot wrong right now.
Enjoy!
Happy Mardi Gras

The Extra Dirty crew put on a special Australia Day party at the Midnight Shift and it was a cracker. The place was heaving to the tunes of Feisty, Rob Gilbert and your's truly. I opened the proceedings, which gave me a chance to play some techy house stuff before cranking it up a little. Mel and Rob followed it up with storming sets of techno and progressive. The place was jumpin' until very very late. An awesome night thanks to the unbridled enthusiasm of Mandy's Tribe. This is part Part 2 which cranks it up a notch. Thanks for your support Bear x

Extra Dirty was an awesome party, well done to Mel and the team. Thanks to Olivian DJ and all my other DJ crew. Here's a live recording of the first hour of my three hour set in 34b starting at 3am. There's a little Mardi Gras magic in there if you listen hard with cheeky samples from Sneaky Sound System and even Kylie. As with any live set it's a very raw but hey, that's the excitement of live performance. It was a great night, the crowd was wicked and awesome fun. Thanks for your support, enjoy the memories and see you soon. Bear x

A little taster of new tunes just in time for Extra Dirty. Kick arse house, chunky prog and slammin techno.
A few people have asked about the "remixes" of "Love is a drug" and "Therapy". These aren't remixes, just a little accapella mayhem on the trusty Traktor S4.
See it live Sunday 4 March at Q-Bar where we will get more than just a little Dirty.
Extra Dirty
Sunday 4th March 2012 - QBar, Oxford St, Darlinghurst
Olivian DJ (Rome), Feisty, Baby Bear, Rob Gilbert (Melb), Magda, Juan Velasco, Papa Tom (Melb) and Sveta

What a year of tunes it's been; hope you enjoy this little send-off to 2011. This mix sums up the year for me very well, some techy house, a touch of progressive and some grinding techno.
It's starts with some very funky tech house by Redondo, Sideburn and one of my favs of the minute, Patrick Siech. It gets a little chunkier and dirtier thanks to Luigi Rocca, Nuta Cookier and Rino Cerrone before cranking up a notch with Marco Bailey, Hans Bouffmyhre and Tom Hades.
The awesome Jerome Sydenham gets involved in his usual dark, deep but still souful style, before Gary Beck smashes us into techno oblivion with the astonishing track "Round My Place". We finish off with some Phunk Investigation, Manuel Hierro and Umek.
Special thanks to the listeners, dancers and promoters that have given me great support this year. Especially, Mel (Extra Dirty), Randel (Exile) and Sydney Mardi Gras.
Have a great festive season, see you in 2012 for some more bangin tunes!

From luscious tech house to bangin' techno and deep progressive, this mix has a little something for everyone.
Includes kicking tracks from Patrick Seich, Markantonio, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Samuel L Session, Andy Notalez, Joseph Capriati and of course, Adam Freemer. There's also a cranking Carlo Lio mix of an Alex Dolby track - Raw Road - spectacular.
This mix is dedicated to Mandy Rollins, who we very sadly lost a year ago. Mandy inspired me to get back into music and we miss her very much.
Thanks for your support, hope you enjoy the tunes.
